Greetings, Students and Families of Philomath Elementary School:

As I type today, I am finding myself staring across the office at my still-undone Rubik's Cube. Such high hopes for completion all year long! I know I still have time, however is getting shorter and shorter. I guess I have some learning to do!

Please remember that Monday (05/25) is a holiday, celebrating Memorial Day. Memorial Day is an American holiday, observed on the last Monday of May each year, honoring the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military.

Information for pick-up this week will be light. As a result, we will be leaving tables in the vestibule this Friday (05/22). Doors will be open by 8:00am, with access remaining until 6:00pm in the evening.

Packets This Week:
• 2nd Grade: No New Materials This Week
3rd Grade: School Work Packet and School Supplies
• 4th Grade: No New Materials This Week
• 5th Grade: No New Materials This Week

Some students will also have materials available from Mrs. Bell, Mr. Blackman, Mrs. Coleman, Mrs. Davis, Mrs. Dyer, Mrs. Haldeman, Mrs. Johnson, and/or Mrs. Starr. These staff members have contacted families for whom these materials will be available.

A number of students also still have school supplies left from last week to pick up.

Homework Return:
There will boxes under each table, labeled with teacher names. Any work to be returned to teachers should be placed in these boxes. Return boxes will be available for all grade-level classroom teachers, Mrs. Bell, Mrs. Coleman, Mrs. Gruver, Mr. Meeker, and Mr. Rath. Teachers will retrieve materials next week to review and provide feedback to students.

Lost and Found and Birthday Books will be available again on Friday, May 29th.

Hope you enjoy a safe Holiday weekend. As for me, I’ll be spending some time with Rubik!

Still learning together—
Susan
