Greetings, Students and Families of Philomath Elementary School:

With the nice weather, it is biking time. That's the exercise I am doing for Mr. Rath! However, I may not get away with calling it "exercise" as my bike has a motor. Do you think I can ride it twice as much and still get some exercise credit?!

This Friday, May 29th, will be another busy day at PES. . There will be lots of items to be picked up and boxes for items to be returned. We will be set up in front of the school, beginning at 8:00am. As has happened in prior weeks, tables will be moved into the vestibule, just inside the front door of the school, in the middle of the afternoon. Access will remain available until 6:00pm in the evening. If unable to pick up on Friday, you may come by on any other weekday to pick up materials between 8:30am-2:00pm or by appointment.

For those of you picking you your packets at Blodgett Elementary School, they will be waiting for you in the Blodgett gym on Monday, June 1st.

Packets This Week:
• 2nd Grade: School Packets
• 3rd Grade: School Packets
• 4th Grade: School Packets
• 5th Grade: No New Materials This Week (unless notified by teacher)

Homework Return:
There will boxes under each table, labeled with teacher names. Any work to be returned to teachers should be placed in these boxes. Return boxes will be available for all grade-level classroom teachers, Mrs. Bell, Mrs. Coleman, Mrs. Gruver, Mr. Meeker, and Mr. Rath. Teachers will retrieve materials next week to review and provide feedback to students.

Assembly:
Yes, it is time for another school assembly. Look for the link to view our end-of-May assembly very soon! Jog-a-Thon Update:
Thanks to all students for participating in the Jog-a-Thon. Together, Philomath Elementary School and Clemens Primary School raised just over $7,000! Congratulations to one of our 2nd grade classrooms for being the class winner this year! Mrs. Franco'’s (formerly Ms. Park) classroom was the overall winner. Each student from Mrs. Franco’s classroom will receive a certificate for a free ice cream cone from the Philomath Dairy Queen! These can be picked up with school packets. Congratulations!

In case some of you still have Jog-a-Thon pledges to turn in, please bring them to the school office at either CPS or PES.

Celebrate Your Birthday!:
Once again, we will have a table with birthday book selections. Feel free to take one home to keep in your personal library. This is available for the following students:
• Students celebrating a birthday while school was in session, however forgot to pick up their book OR
• Students who have celebrated or will celebrate a birthday between March 16th and June 13th.

Lost and Found:
We will have tables out for displaying items in our "Lost & Found". If missing any items, please feel free to review items and retrieve what belongs to your child(ren).

I’m heading home soon. Will be sure to ride my bike a little extra… and hope that Mr. Rath approves.

Still learning together—
Susan
